Japan Caught on a Cheap Digital Camera, Pt. 2
Written by billywest on November 16, 2008
As you may know, I’ve started a new series (with unpredictable, sporadic installments) here called “Japan Caught on a Cheap Digital Camera.” Well, as promised (or threatened, depending on your point of view), here are more of the photos that I’ve taken with my cheap-ass camera in the last couple of years.

Sometimes it’s better not to try to hard with the photos, just snap away on the old cheapy and get some good shots of Japan in the raw … keep up these posts man.

Love the two hanami shots and Neil is right - just keep clicking away
The photos may never do your memory justice but they will offer a reminder of great times had in Japan.

Thanks guys. I do love taking pictures, but I’m so often disappointed when I think I’ve taken a great shot, then get home and open it up on my PC to find that the quality is too poor or the colors just weren’t captured as vividly as I’d hoped for. Get a gem every once in awhile, though.

Love the pic of Ueno park with all the cherry blossoms. I checked out the cherry blossoms at Ueno park this past spring and it was a great experience. Dammit Billy now you have got me longing for spring! LOL

Nice shots Billy! Thanks for sharing.
Incidentally, the number of people at Shibuya Hachiko never fails to freak me out so much I need a beer…

@freedom:

I long for spring two times a year; once during the dog days of summer, and once when winter begins.
@JT:
That’s why we head directly to Tasu Ichi after making the crossing at Hachiko

I think the pics looks good. I like a simple camera to carry around to capture simple memories or pictures.

Thanks, Tornadoes.
I like to travel light no matter where I go, so a small camera really suits me. I guess that even if I had a pro-model camera, I’d leave it at home most of the time unless I was heading out specifically for the purpose of taking photos, which means I’d miss out on all those great photo-snapping opportunities that spontaneously present themselves.

cheap cam or not these are some great photographs!
I have been getting into photography over the past year and although I wouldn’t call my cam expensive, it is quite capable.
